Organization ProfileThe organization is known as the Fraser Volunteer Firefighters Association. The following Administrative Officer positions are in place through December 2008:
The carnival/picnic is our largest fundraising opportunity of the year. Each year the citizens of Fraser exceed our expectations with their generosity. Each year we hold a raffle that takes place just before the fireworks on Sunday. Prizes range from money to prizes like electronics and stuff like that. If you have suggestions for prizes you would like to have a chance to win, send me an email or click the feedback button above. Reindel True Value Hardware donates some sort of 'bounce house' for the kids and at night we sell glow necklaces along with other blinky wearables. All of the proceeds from this, and all of our other FUNdraising events, goes toward the 'new equipment fund'. Check out the Donations to the City link for more information. This event allows us to mingle with the citizens of Fraser without having it be an emergency situation. Please stop by our tent - we'd love to get to know you better. Each year, the volunteer firefighters organization uses the funds raised throughout the year for the purchase of fire fighting equipment and other items that are relevant to the organization. This is a tradition that dates back to the beginnings of the organization - 20 years ago.
Here are some things we usually try to schedule during the open house. Send us an email if there's something you'd like to see or do.
In case you missed it, you can make plans this year - we are. This is one of the largest fire department open house events in the area. It's usually during Fire Safety Week which is the first week in October. If you have a suggestion or comment please provide feedback by clicking the button at the top of this page. Here are some pictures of the fun
David P. Sutton Memorial Safety Trailer This is a custom-made trailer that can simulate a smoke-filled structure. We can move this trailer at any time and anywhere so that children can learn the do's-and-dont's about fire safety. being able to teach children about fire safety and then simulate what happens when things go wrong can be invaluable in case of an emergency. Having someone say that they knew what to do because they were shown what it was like makes it all worth while. You can request this trailer to be a part of your own event by contacting the President of the Volunteers (Mike Carnagie) to schedule the date and time. |
